A Barney Bubble[1] is an enemy in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its Game Boy Advance version. Barney Bubbles are purple with blue feet, as shown from their sprites, although their artwork erroneously depicts them as white with red feet. Its name is a pun on the name of the character Barney Rubble from The Flintstones. A Barney Bubble's behavior involves it quickly running back and forth. A Yoshi cannot eat a Barney Bubble, and they can defeat it only by throwing an egg at it.
