An Ultra Shroom is an item found in the Paper Mario series. This special mushroom heals fifty HP. They are found randomly throughout the Mushroom Kingdom (and the greater Mushroom World), and are rarely for sale. In the Underground Shop in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Mario can purchase Ultra Shrooms for two hundred Coins each.

Although they heal a lot of HP, Ultra Shrooms aren't the most valuable shrooms in the series. To acquire the most valuable, mix an Ultra Shroom with a Jammin' Jelly at Zess T. or Tayce T.'s house to create the Jelly Ultra.

Ultra Shrooms, separated from other Mushrooms by having the same green cap as 1-Up Mushrooms, are the most powerful HP-recovering item the series that doesn't recover FP.

Ultra Shrooms also appeared in the Mario & Luigi series, though their coloring was no different from other Mushrooms in those games. In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, an Ultra Shroom would recover one hundred twenty HP, but in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, it would only recover eighty HP.
