Odyssey
Game Boy Color
Odyssey
{|class="wikitable" style="text-align: center"
The Odyssey lands in a secluded area south of the main part of the city. Nearby are some girders where Mario can find three regional coins. During Mechawiggler's attack on the city, there is a spark pylon on the blue tarp at the end of the girders which will take Mario to the city streets. After defeating Mechawiggler, Hint Toad and Uncle amiibo appear here, the spark pylon is moved closer to the Odyssey, and a Power Moon can be found inside the girders. Ground Pounding on the blue tarp where the spark pylon originally was makes coins pop out. Luigi also appears here after the main story's completion and hosts Balloon World.

Main Street Entrance
Game Boy Advance
{|class="wikitable" style="text-align: center"
Normally, it is accessed by capturing the spark pylon attached to the aforementioned structure. In this location, Mario may find a Checkpoint Flag, Binoculars (through which the Sphynx can be seen after completion of the story), and a few New Donkers who welcome him to the city. Mario may continue forward into the streets or visit the park nearby (which is referred to as 'Squawks Park' on road signs), where the Jump-Rope Challenge is held and Talkatoo is found. This park also contains the Jammin' Toad, a Bonneter, and the Letters after the story is completed.
!Hole

!Overview
Due to the much different setup of the Metro Kingdom during its attack, Main Street is reached via a spark pylon in a slightly different location, taking Mario southeast of the park, where the Checkpoint Flag in place of the regular one is found, referring to this location as the City Outskirts. This flag disappears permanently once Mechawiggler has been defeated.
!Green

!Par
The music that regularly plays throughout the city plays as soon as Mario touches the ground here. As such, it is possible, at least briefly, to advance through the city without the music playing so long as Mario stays off the ground.

Rooftop Garden
|-

|2
It is a small, flat garden atop one of the many buildings in this kingdom. Although most of the garden is found atop two connected buildings, a similar area close to these buildings also features a garden. While roaming the garden, Mario may find a Checkpoint Flag, a pole, and a rabbit he may catch for a Power Moon, though the rabbit often runs around the garden, hopping to the adjacent building. In the corner of the garden, two New Donkers sit on a bench in the shade of a tree. While exploring the garden, Mario may locate a set of four regional coins on the highest point as well as a football he may simply punt off the rooftop into the streets.

It is located right of the New Donk City Hall Plaza where the player must climb up a set of stairs and either Wall Jump up a set of Girders, or capture a spark pylon in order to reach the Heliport. On top of the Heliport is a helipad with a Checkpoint Flag in the middle of the pad. Also on the Heliport is several pylons and a water tower, and left of the checkpoint flag is a Pole, a swinging girder with a Power Moon and the New Donk City Hall Rooftop. The Heliport also appears in the New Donk City Hall stage in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

It is located in the bottom-right corner of the kingdom and is isolated from the rest of New Donk City. It can only be accesed via a painting from the Sand Kingdom, available after completing the story mission Showdown on the Inverted Pyramid. On the rooftop is a Power Moon, a Checkpoint Flag, and a block of girders with multiple Hidden Coins on top.

Cap Kingdom
|??? yards
*Central Plaza: Borderline, kind of noteworthy, but generically named and not that distinct from the rest of the kingdom since there are hat houses in other parts and it's generically named.
|
*Glasses Bridge: Keep, minor landmark mentioned in the brochure.
|-
*Sometimes Bridge: Borderline, context of the name is that the brochure calls it 'The "Sometimes" Bridge', meaning it's not really a name and should probably be merged later, but whatever, it's not high on my priority list.
|10
*Top-Hat Tower: Keep, it's a major landmark with a sub-area in it.

Cascade Kingdom

*Stone Bridge: Merge, it's just a strip of land with nothing notable about other than it has a bunch of Burrbos on it.

*Path to the Meat Plateau: Merge, nondescript checkpoint location.

*Salt Pile Isle: Merge, just a tiny platform in the lava that isn't noteworthy in any way.
*Floating Sky Island: Merge, painting exit location.
*Remote Island in the Lava: Merge. It has a painting to the Mushroom Kingdom and a couple of Power Moons, but it's generically named and not geographically distinct.

Bowser's Kingdom
*Souvenir Shop: Merge. It's basically just a floating island with a Crazy Cap on it, but there's a back door with a secret room inside. And there are seats and stuff... Anyway, it's generically named, and we already have a Crazy Cap article.

They're generically named, and they're not really landmarks, just different parts of the level. They're exactly the sort of thing I would compare to SMG planets.
*Showdown Arena: Merge: The RoboBrood battle arena. Some New Donkers show up and decorate it a bit later. Otherwise, same as above.

Moon Kingdom

*Quiet Wall: Merge, it's just the entrance to the fake link|Underground Moon Caverns.

*Yoshi's House: Keep, already a notable subject before SMO.
*Peach's Castle Main Entrance: Merge, it's just the entrance to Peach's Castle.

*Goomba Woods: Keep, geographically distinct location.

Dark Side
*Rabbit Ridge Tower: Keep, major landmark and sub-area.
