Tomatoes are large red tomatoes with sinister looking faces. Tomatoes appear in Donkey Kong 64. The tomatoes are the only enemies in Donkey Kong 64 who are immune to the Kong' musical instrument moves.

Donkey Kong 64 Player's Guide. Page 82.</ref> are large, mutated tomato enemies in Donkey Kong 64. They have a sinister-looking face and a set of sharp teeth. A few Tomatoes appear in Fungi Forest during the night, at the area near Funky's Store. If a Kong is nearby, the Tomato lunges at them. Tomatoes are invulnerable to nearly every attack, including musical instrument moves, and can only be defeated from Chunky Kong jumping onto them as Hunky Chunky. This is required to help the Worm, who says that the Tomatoes ate all of its friends, and fears it will be next.

Several Tomatoes can be found in the area near Funky's Store in the area Fungi Forest at night. If the player comes too close to a Tomato, it will lunge at them and damage them. The player cannot fight back as attacks cannot harm tomatoes. In order to defeat tomatoes, the player as Chunky Kong must jump into a Hunky Chunky Barrel to become Hunky Chunky.
The Tomatoes may have been inspired by the tomatoes from the Attack of the Killer Tomatoes franchise.

When the player as Hunky Chunky approaches the Tomatoes, the Worm starts speaking to them, saying that all of its friends were eaten by the Tomatoes and that it could also be eaten unless the player defeats the tomatoes. To defeat a tomato, the player as Hunky Chunky must jump onto it. The Worm later rewards the player with a Golden Banana after they defeat the Tomatoes and relocate the Worm and its house.
