Where does it say that they're Koopas?
- Yoshi Master

Koopa or beetle?

I'm Confused if they're either koopas or beetles?--Fg 19:46, 26 January 2007 (EST)

They are Buzzy Beetles. Spinies are Koopas who are also related to Buzzy Beetles. Spinies are like a Buzzy Beetle-Koopa hybird. But Buzzy Beetles themselves are just Buzzy Beetles (not Koopas). -- Son of Suns
Same with Spike-tops.
But they are not beetles, they are turtles, whilst the Koopas are tortoises.----Koopaman (I spelled it without a capital ``M`` this time!!!!)

I was just about to ask the same thing. I remember seeing in a manual for a Mario game that they are "big freakin bugs with shells made of diamond". Plus their name is "BUZZY BEETLES". Magikrazy51 (talk)

Section Deleted

I deleted the Super Princess Peach section, as it had nothing to do with Buzzy Beetles-only spike tops. If anyone objects, heres what the section said:

"Spike Tops appear in Super Princess Peach, where they are, for some reason,
called "Mecha-Spike Tops". The game subsequently also features Mad Mecha-Spike Tops, which are influenced by the Rage Vibe."
