General Description

Slides are secret places from certain levels in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS.

Princess Peach's Castle's Secret Slide

This slide is perhaps the easiest and the shortest of them all. It has 50 Coins, a yellow ! Block that contains a Star, and a 1-Up Mushroom. It is the only slide that is not in an actual level and is available as a playable course in multiplayer for the DS version of Super Mario 64. It can be accessed by going into the stainglass picture of Peach on the right of the room on the second floor.

Cool, Cool Mountain's Penguin Racetrack

This slide is the only slide that has a shortcut (if you are in front of the penguin and you use the shortcut, he won't give you the reward). The track is made of snow and ice, so it's fairly hard. It has more than 50 yellow coins and one blue one that only appears at the beginning of the race, some 1-up mushrooms (in the shortcut), and a Star (the reward given to you by the penguin). The hardest part is the thin bridge made of sheer ice, but it's right before the finish line so all you need to do is keep your pace. To race or freeride on the track, you must enter throught the chimney of the cabin you first see when you start the level.

Tall, Tall Mountain's Smiley Joyride

This one is ,without a doubt, the hardest slide in the game. It, unlike the others, features sharper turns and detours. The track has over 50 coins, a couple of 1-up mushrooms, and a star at the end. This track is also the answer to the 100 coin star for Tall Tall Mt., but one must be precise, or the star can be easily missed. To get to this slide you have to go near the top of the mountain (near Fwoosh) and find a place that looks like an ordinary wall, but is accessible like a painting.
