Simon Belmont is a protagonist vampire hunter from Konami's Castlevania video game series, debuting in the very first entry to the series, Castlevania (1986 video game). He crossed over with characters from the Mario franchise in episodes of Captain N: The Game Master, and is set to do the same in the upcoming fighting game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. His descendant, Richter Belmont, also appears in the game as an Echo Fighter of Simon. Keith Silverstein and Hideo Ishikawa confirmed that they will reprise their roles as Simon in the English and Japanese versions of the game, respectively.

Simon makes his Super Smash Bros. debut in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a third-party character, alongside fellow Konami characters Solid Snake and Richter Belmont, Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog and Bayonetta, Capcom's Mega Man and Ryu, Bandai Namco's Pac-Man, and Square Enix's Cloud Strife. His various attacks involve him using his "Vampire Killer" whip. Simon's special attacks are Axe, an axe that is a powerful projectile; Holy Water, a magical, multi-hitting projectile dealing flame damage; Cross, a projectile with boomerang-esque properties; and Uppercut, a powerful uppercut that functions as Simon's recovery move. His Final Smash, Grand Cross, involves trapping players in a coffin and destroying it.

In his debut trailer, he arrives at Dracula's Castle, and also eliminates Death shortly after the latter easily defeated Luigi. He later confronts Dracula himself but is nearly defeated, only to be saved by his descendant Richter.
