This most commonly refers to how the Shroobs placed purple fungus-like growths around the Mushroom Kingdom, and even transformed people into these Shroob Mushrooms. Fortunately, the process can be reversed by the tears of babies. When exposed to these tears, people who have been turned into Shroob Mushrooms will return to their normal selves, a process known as re-toadification (even when used in reference to non-Toads).
