A Patroller is a user who is given blocking, rollbacking, patrolling, oversight and CheckUser rights.

Rollbacking allows reverting edits to become easier. Patrollers can simply click the rollback button on the history page, rather than undoing the edit. This feature makes fighting vandalism more effective. Like Sysops, Patrollers are expected to not only enforce the rules on the wiki, but also participate in admin discussions on the forum.

Patrollers were established on April 15, 2007 in order to counter vandalism that had been becoming more prevalent around the increasingly popular wiki. On March 26, 2008, the Patroller rank was phased out because of a perceived redundancy with the Sysop rank, however it was eventually brought back on January 11, 2009 as a rank for promising users who were still not quite ready to be full-on Sysops. Although most Sysops were Patrollers at one point, a user can be promoted immediately to Sysop and never be a Patroller, although this is not common practice anymore.

Current Patrollers are listed at Special:ListUsers/patroller.
