Lava or Leave 'Em is a 4-player mini-game found in Mario Party 8
Introduction
The players are walking through a field when a volcano in the background erupts. It moves quickly, and to avoid being burnt, the players jump onto a nearby rock, which is soon being pushed by the lava. A Podoboo gets on the rock, and the game starts.
Gameplay
The player uses the D-Pad to run around, and the 2 button to jump. The players must avoid the pobodoo moving around on the rock. As the minigame progresses, the pobodoo will split into two smaller pobodoos, which will likewise split later. To win, a player must avoid being hit by the pobodoo or falling off the rock, either until time runs out, or until all of the other players have been eliminated.
Ending
The remaining player(s) will be seen on the now burnt field, doing their victory dance, with the losing players nowhere to be seen.
Trivia
- The name of the mini-game is a pun on the phrase "Love or Leave 'Em".
