Template:Minigame-infobox In the Nick of Time is a 4-Player minigame in Mario Party 8. It is similar to a minigame found in Mario Party 5 called Clock Stoppers.

Introduction

A door opens as the camera goes into it. The first character is looking at the various clocks hanging in the room as one of them catches their attention. The big clock's hands spin until the minigame begins, both stopping at 12.

Gameplay

The objective is to align the clock's hands with the guide hands, matching the clock in the center of the screen. The player controls both hands by tilting the Wii Remote clockwise or counterclockwise; naturally, the minute hand moves faster than the hour hand. The first player to match the time gets a point, causing all players' clocks to freeze until the next round starts.

The first player to score three points wins. Otherwise, the game ends after five rounds, with the player with the highest score winning.

Ending

The losers' clock hands shake and spring out. The winner does their victory pose, but is startled by the suddenly shaking clocks. In Party Mode, if the results screen remains, the minigame shows the door closing.

In-game text

  • Rules"Turn the clock's hands to match the image. Whoever gets three matches first wins."
  • Hint"Slow down your rotation when you get close to the correct time so you don't pass it up!"
