The Forbidden Pop-Up Book is one of the main elements of the Yoshi Topsy-Turvy story. Is a book filled with spirits, and owned by the greatest of all, Hongo. In the beginning of the game, Hongo use his magic to stop Bowser, who try to conquer the Yoshi's Island with his armies.

Hongo fails in the action, and insert into the book the Yoshi's Island too. Into the book, Yoshi, helped by some spirits, must try to defeat Bowser to save the Yoshi's Island at last.
