Template:Minigame-infobox Shell Soccer is an extra minigame featured in Mario Party 9 and Mario Party Superstars. Two Party Points are awarded for playing in Mario Party 9.

Introduction

The minigame first shows a view of the center of the arena, with the teams on both sides of the court doing an animation. The camera then pans toward the sun before showing the Koopa shell in the center, then zooms out.

Gameplay

Players are divided into two teams of two, which can be selected after the player chooses the characters. The teams are working together in order to eliminate the rival team's seven Goombas. Players automatically "dribble" the shell by making contact with it. The player can kick the shell or pass it to their teammate by pressing  . If the player shoots the shell, it may ricochet off the sides of the arena. Passing or shooting also forces the player to stand still, giving rivals a chance to steal the shell, which can be done by pressing  . The player can adjust the angle of their shot by holding down   and using  . When the player hits a Goomba with the shell, their team receives one point per Goomba hit. The next round then begins, with the opposing team getting the shell. The first team to eliminate all seven of the rival team's Goombas wins.

Ending

The winners stand in the center of the arena, with confetti falling on them. The losers are at the back.
