The Timer is an item that has so far only appeared in Super Mario Galaxy 2. In several Speedy Comet missions, these appear, and they add 10 seconds to the player's time limit, which starts at either 0:20 or 0:30 seconds. The player must get these in order to complete the level. They only appear in the Speedy Comet missions for Sky Station Galaxy, Bowser's Lava Lair, Bowser's Gravity Gauntlet, Bowser's Galaxy Generator, and Stone Cyclone Galaxy.

Its appearance is a green clock with a knob on top. The minute hand is pointed to the top. It spins around continuously until the player grabs it.
