The seven Koopalings before the introduction of Bowser Jr.
The Koopalings are seven of Bowser's children. They each guard a castle in Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World. Note that Bowser Jr., Bowser's eighth and favorite child, is not considered to be a Koopaling, but rather to have replaced the seven Koopas. The Koopalings are . . .
Additionally, the Koopalings were regular characters on Mario cartoons, however, since the cartoon creators did not want to purchase the copyrights to every Koopaling, they were renamed.
