Apparently, the image used to be their correct appearance from the game, but was replaced with the current image with the reason "Most look likely other clefts". No source for the current image is given and I don't know where it came from, since it does not look like the Clefts in the original ''Paper Mario'' but it doesn't look like the ones from ''Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door'' either, even if it were a different colour (the spike on its forehead is too short and positioned differently and the eyes are different as well).
