A Tilt Lift is a new gimmick in the game New Super Mario Bros. Wii. At first it appears as a solid gray platform. However, when someone lands on it, it changes into the corresponding characters color. It will turn red for Mario, green for Luigi, blue for Blue Toad, and yellow for Yellow Toad. The player can then control the lift by tilting the Wii Remote. Tilting the remote counter clockwise makes the left side of the lift go down while tilting it clockwise makes the right side of the lift go down. More simply put, the Tilt Lift will match the angle and orientation of the Wii Remote within its designated range of motion. These platforms can be used to reach Star Coins and Warp Pipes that the player couldn't normally reach.
