Mario Portal confirms that "Volcano Lotus", the original Super Mario World name, is the correct one. "Volcano Plant" is from Super Princess Peach, whose English localization is janky in the same way that Super Mario RPG's is, containing inconsistencies like "Boss P. Plant" and "Mecha-Spike Top". Therefore, it should not take priority, especially since people are far more likely to be familiar with SMW than SPP.

- "Volcano Plant" was used as early as the Mario Mania Player's Guide (as was "Fishing Boo"). I wouldn't consider it an example of Super Princess Peach's localization jank. PopeLuigi (talk) 19:40, August 18, 2022 (EDT)
