An Electrogoomba is an enemy in Super Mario Galaxy. It is an alien, amphibious Goomba. They are seen in various parts of the game and they headbutt Mario when he approaches. In some cases, if Mario destroys some, a secret might be unveiled, as seen on the Space Boat, where Mario had to eliminate two of them to make a bridge appear.
They can easily be squashed. When jumped on, a Coin is always left by them. When a Star Spin is used to defeat them, they leave 3 star bits. A strange red variety of them has been seen in a recent video.
Appearance
Electrogoombas are very detailed, odd looking Goombas. They have smooth skin with a blue head and yellow spots all over. They have a rounded mouth like a Snifit and shoot space comets out of it. They also have yellow, glowing eyes and a small antenna on the top of their head. They might even be Shroobs.
Subspecies
One subspecies is a brown color. It is immobile, but can shoot green projectiles at Mario. Only the head is visible on these, as they hide inside holes or barrels. They make a strange squeaking noise before they shoot. This variety often appears in pre-boss levels. Another species is red, and shoots rocks. There is also a bright blue woven blooper that digs underground. The brown species returns in the Space Junk Galaxy, here it does not hide inside a barrel and therefore its whole body is exposed, revealing a few tentacles keeping it in place. These bloopers, unlike the ones in other levels, only shot fire, and therefore Mario must use a projectile like a shell to destroy it.
