In the opening of [[Land of the Cragnons|Chapter 5]], two Cragnons are shown praying for the survival of their people, who are being terrorized by the [[Floro Sapien]]s, and when Mario falls into their midst, they believe he was sent by the Big Rock Who Watches to save them. Big Rock Who Watches may be a fourth-wall-breaking reference to the player, similar to other allusions to the player by other characters in the game.
