Over time, Nibbla's color changes from blue, to purple, and then to red. It becomes happier and bluer if it eats a [[Koco]], but if Nibbla eats a [[Lurchin]], it becomes redder and angrier looking. When the Nibbla turns red, it will bite the lead Kong if it does not eat a [[Koco]] soon enough, but it will immediately attack the Kong if it eats a [[Lurchin]] while red.

Nibbla becomes happier and bluer if it eats a [[Koco]], but if it eats a [[Lurchin]], it becomes redder and angrier looking. When Nibbla turns red, it will bite the lead Kong if it does not eat a Koco soon enough. It will also attack the lead Kong immediately if it eats a Lurchin while pink.

Thus, to safely traverse the level, the Kongs must direct Nibbla towards any [[Koco]]s along their path while avoiding any [[Lurchin]]s. If a Kong is lost at any time, whether it's by Nibbla or another enemy, Nibbla's mood will revert to its blue state regardless of what it was previously.

At the end, there is a [[No Animal Sign]] for Nibbla despite it being an enemy and not an [[Animal Friend]].
Curiously, while Nibbla is classified as an enemy, there is a [[No Animal Sign]] for it at the end of the level. But unlike the [[Animal Friend]]s, it will not pass through the sign.
