Tails from the DS version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games.

Miles Prower, who is better known by the nickname of Tails, is a flying, two-tailed orange fox from the Sonic series. He will participate in Olympic events in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. In most Sonic games, he is known for spinning his twin tails like a helicopter propellor, allowing him to fly. It is not known as of yet whether or not he'll be using this ability in the upcoming Olympic game starring both his hero and Mario.

Trivia

  • Tails was thought to be an unlockable character, along with Sonic, in Super Smash Bros. Melee, but this turned out to be an April Fool's prank set up by Electronic Gaming Monthly (a magazine).
  • Tails was originally planned to be one of Japanese mythology's tanukis (his current design is based on the kitsune, another animal in Japan's myths), although Sega scrapped this idea in fear of people thinking that they plagiarized another video game series. Interestingly, this series was probably Mario's, considering the existence of the Tanooki Suit.
  • Tails's real name, Miles Prower, is a pun on miles per hour.
