So if any of us have an N64, we all loved Donkey Kong 64. Rumors have spread that either they will make a virtual console version, or an entire remake. Well, I do believe that this will never exist. You're probably thinking, "You idiot! They just haven't made it yet!" Well, it is true that the three DKC games are not on virtual console yet, which means that they could be waiting for the Donkey Kong Anniversary. Maybe those games will get a trilogy for Wii U. But Donkey Kong 64 will never happen because of one reason: Copyright.
Everybody knows that Rare helped develop that game, but they work for Microsoft now. Nintendo can't do that because they put in something in the game they couldn't take out. If you ever want to beat the game, you will need to beat King Kut Out for the final boss key for K.Lumsy. But you can't get the key without getting the Nintendo coin from Frantic Factory, along with the RAREWARE coin. Once again, you have to know that Rare works for Microsoft. Nintendo can make a remake, but they would either have to take out all Rareware symbols and replace them with something else, or have a contract. Even though they have all rights to Donkey Kong, they will never make a Donkey Kong 64 remake.
