Your friend might be crazy, but to admit, I'm pretty crazy as well. I think I may have a crush on Baby Luigi as well. Don't worry, it's ok. There are many people out there that are like that too (such as me) and I think there are people worse out there that even claim that certain video game characters are alive!
My advice? Don't worry about it too much. It's not like it's gonna destroy your friend's reputation anyway.
