Hey, regarding the edit on the gallery for Jump, the art in dispute is referencing more closely a midair kick by Mario (a neutral aerial, a recurring move across all Smash Bros. games), not a jump (he doesn't even need to be jumping to perform this, just midair) rather than the promotional art used for Mario Party 6. For starters. I have an example screenshot to show.
I would agree, however, that Mario's render from Melee would be closer to a jumping pose.
