Purple Bullet Bills[1][2] are enemies in Super Mario Sunshine. They are purple-colored Bullet Bill variants with blinking red nosecones that, upon detecting Mario, will follow him on a horizontal plane, similarly to Bullet Bills in Super Mario 64. If they miss, they will execute a tight but lengthy U -turn. They only appear in Pinna Park in the The Beach Cannon's Secret episode, where they are shot from Monty Mole's cannons along with other Bullet Bills, following a long downward arc pattern in Mario's direction. They can be defeated by being squirted by FLUDD, which grants two coins. Purple Bullet Bills can be used to destroy the baskets containing Blue Coins.
The Bullet Bills fired from Bowser Jr.'s boat over Corona Mountain have blinking red nosecones and will lock onto Mario like Purple Bullet Bills. This type of Bullet Bill is called special Purple Bullet Bills[1], although they are not purple.
