Hot Wheels is a brand used by the United States–based toy company Mattel introduced in 1968 that features die-cast toy cars. The first Hot Wheels die-casts based on the Super Mario franchise launched in 2008. Since then, Mattel has collaborated numerous times with Nintendo and launched various series of Super Mario-based die-casts.

Monster Jam series

The first Hot Wheels merchandise directly based on the Super Mario franchise produced by Mattel were recreations of the real-life Donkey Kong monster truck at various scales. Die-casts did not have eyes on their windshield until the real-life counterpart got them.

Mario Kart Series

First released in July 2019, the Mario Kart Series is mostly faithful to the game designs. The karts are metal casted while the characters are plastic sculptures based mostly on their appearance in Mario Kart 8 but are not interchangeable. In 2020, a new line of karts with gliders launched alongside the original line. These models feature a grip situated on the back part of the car that normal models do not have. As of September 2022, there is a total of 25 characters (32 counting recolors but not the Yoshi Egg Series) and 13 karts in different combinations.
