The Chinese name “魔杂” doesn’t make any sense to me, and doesn’t sound like its Japanese name(at least in mandarin). “魔” means “magical” “demonic” or simply “evil”, so I guess the “demon” part of the current translation is correct. As for “杂”， I guess it may come from either “杂物（“garbage” or “miscellaneous items/tools”, referring to how Krodes look like pieces of garbage）” or “杂兵（a term for common/weak enemies in video games）”.
