It only became apparent to me that this may be a little contentious after I started initiating changes (sorry about that - I already made a similar slip up recently on the Purple Coin Ball page. I will be more thoughtful going forward). However, I moved the name of this article from fake Goal Pole to illusion because while both "names" (i.e. Prima Guide authors/editors applying a noun to a thing as they see it, rather than Nintendo providing a specific name for the thing) are attested in the SM3DW Prima Guide, the latter is a more accurate bridge between what this object is conceptualized in Japan, where it is referred to as テレサのイタズラ (Teresa no Itazura), meaning "Boo's prank" in the Shogakukan Encyclopedia (page 233), and they do not break this up into a fake Goal Pole, fake Mystery Box, etc. They lump them together as one. The sense I have is that the interpretation of these things as separate objects is a western misinterpretation. They are all suppose to be one subject. | |||
