In ''Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games'', the class contains three events based around skating a required distance in the fastest time possible, [[Speed Skating 500m (Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games for Wii)|Speed Skating 500m]], [[Short Track 1,000m]] and [[Short Track Relay]]. In ''Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games'', [[Speed Skating 500m (Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games)|Speed Skating 500m]] and [[Short Track Speed Skating 1000m]] are included in the event class. The speed skating-based events [[Speed Skating 500m (Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games for Nintendo DS)|Speed Skating 500m]] and [[Short Track 500m]] appear in the [[Nintendo DS]] [[Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games (Nintendo DS)|version]] of ''Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games'', but are instead included in the [[Skating]] class.
