The mini-game Kartastrophe, from Mario Party 8

Kartastrophe is a 4-player mini-game in Mario Party 8 as well as a single-player mini-game in the game's Test for the Best mode.

Introduction

The four players (or one person) will be lined up at the starting line, in cars. The lights will beep twice, and then turn green, letting the player(s) go.

Gamplay

This is a racing game. The four players will go through the course twice, pressing 2 to accelerate and 1 to decelerate. They will turn by tilting their Wii Remote. On sharp curves, when the player turns their Wii Remote all the way, for a second or two, the car will start to skid, making it easier to make the tight curves. The first player who crosses the finish line at the end of the second lap is declared the winner of the mini-game.

Ending

The winner will be driving on the course not doing a cheer.

Trivia

  • Kartastrophe is a pun on catastrophe.
