A '''Party Ball''' is an item container featured in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Melee]]'', ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'', ''[[Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS]]'' / ''[[Super Smash Bros. for Wii U|Wii U]]'', and ''[[Super Smash Bros. Ultimate]]''. When thrown or attacked, they rise up and release items after a few seconds. Like the [[crate]], the Party Ball is a heavy item. Only very strong fighters, such as [[Donkey Kong]] or [[Bowser]], can walk with relative ease while carrying a Party Ball.

Party Balls have a 42% chance of releasing a random number of assorted items, a 36% chance of revealing exclusively [[List of Super Smash Bros. series items#Food|food]] items, and a 12% chance of dropping several [[Bob-omb]]s onto the battlefield (known as a "Bob-omb Fest"); the other 10% of the time, the Party Ball self-destructs. In ''Super Smash Bros. Brawl'', the Party Ball also has a chance of not releasing any items.
