Lava or Leave 'Em is a mini-game found in Mario Party 8, where the 4 players get on to a platform in the middle of an ocean of lava, and a huge Podoboo is in the center. Over time, the Podoboo will divide in half, and the halves will do the same thing. The player that is left last, by avoiding the Podoboos and not falling off the platform is the victor. The player moves by holding the Wii Remote sideways and use the D-Pad to move, with the 2 button to jump.

*The name of the mini-game is a pun on the phrase "Love or Leave 'Em".
The players are walking through a field when a volcano in the background erupts. To avoid being burned, the players jump onto a nearby rock, and the lava soon goes around it. A Lava Bubble gets on the rock, and the game starts.

The player uses wii to run around and wii to jump. The players must avoid the Lava Bubble moving around on the rock. As the minigame progresses, the Lava Bubble splits into two smaller Lava Bubbles, which likewise split later, and the process continues. Players can jump on their opponents to stun them temporarily. To win, a player must avoid being hit by the Lava Bubbles or falling off the rock either until time runs out or until all of the other players have been eliminated. If all remaining players are eliminated at the same time, the minigame ends in a tie.
