It is a solid [[platform]] in the shape of a cylinder that floats on [[lava]]. Standing on the side of the floating corn causes it to roll and move. It can move in only two directions.

Three ears of floating corn appear in the Luncheon Kingdom:
#Near [[Goombette]], where [[Mario]] needs to [[capture]] [[Goomba]]s and use the floating corn to cross lava and obtain the [[Power Moon]]
#In the bowl of soup at the top of Mount Volbono before [[Cookatiel]] is fought, where Mario can use the corn to make his way towards the [[Multi Moon]] and collect [[coin ring]]s while standing on the corn
#Near the [[Luncheon Kingdom#Volcano Cave Entrance|Volcano Cave Entrance]], where Mario can use the floating corn to get to [[regional coin]]s
