Elvira, Mistress of the Dark (born September 17, 1951) is a famous horror host persona portrayed by Cassandra Peterson. She appears in two live-action segments from The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, both of which aired with Zelda episodes.

Elvira appears in "Mommies Curse", and later reappears in "The Ghoul of my Dreams". She generally prefers things that are either dark or Gothic, and tends to seduce men that she comes across (including Mario). Despite her gloomy appearance, Elvira is actually upbeat with a comical personality.

In "The Ghoul of my Dreams", Mario is watching Elvira host the Movie Macabre on TV, when he falls asleep and starts having a dream. In his dream, Elvira appears and is being held down by a mummy. Mario eventually saves Elvira from the mummy, who turns out to be Luigi. Elvira thinks that the whole thing is too weird, and leaves. When Mario wakes up, he sees Elvira on TV, and she delivers a message directly to him: "Goodnight, Mario. And unpleasant dreams!"

Elvira's first appearance was actually in "Mommies Curse". However, due to a lack of availability, there is no possible summary for that segment at the moment.
