List of bean spots in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story

This article is under construction. Therefore, please excuse its informal appearance while it is being worked on. We hope to have it completed as soon as possible.

In Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, Mario and Luigi can collect Beans from bean spots – flashing dots underground in Bowser's body and X-marked circle spots on the ground of the overworld – by drilling and jumping out at the spots. There are 251 beans in total.

Bean spot locations

Energy Hold

Energy Hold – 17 Beans (12 Heart, 5 Special, 0 Power)
In the area corresponding to the top corner of the Star Panel, there is a cave where the player learns the Drill Bros. move. One scene past the entrance of the cave there will be four beans in the lower area. From left to right: Special, Heart, Heart, Special
In the upper area of the same scene, there will be five beans in the higher area (not all shown here) From left to right: Heart, Heart, Special, Heart, Heart
In the area corresponding to the bottom-left corner of the Star Panel, there is a cave leading to a treasure room, which requires the Star Panel with all but the two bottom corners for entrance. In the room are ? Blocks containing 10 Gold Coins, a Star Candy and the Special Boots. There are also three beans beneath the last ? Block. From left to right: Special, Heart, Heart, Special
In the area corresponding to the upper-left corner of the Star Panel, there is an exit to the upper-right of the big maze that leads to the upper area of the next scene. There will be a Rally Block containing four Attack Pieces. Beneath the Rally Block are five beans. From left to right: Heart, Heart, Special, Heart, Heart

Toad Town

Toad Town – 29 Beans (11 Heart, 8 Special, 10 Power)
In the Squid Fit area to the east of Toad Town, a bean spot can be found in the southeast corner of the south chunk. Heart
Another bean spot can be found on the platform with ? Blocks in the northwest corner of the south chunk. Heart
In the plaza with a spring just before Peach's Castle, a Toad will teach Mario and Luigi to dig out the bean on the platform in the northwest corner. Heart
In the same chunk, another bean spot can be found in the southwest area where there is grass. Power
In the Toad residential quarter west of the plaza, a bean spot can be found east of the house behind the fountain. Special
In the same chunk, another bean can be found in the southeast corner of the area within the wall. Heart
Two more beans can be found near and above the ait vent in the northwest corner of the whole chunk. Heart, Power
After Mario and Luigi learn to spit water, they can put out the fire in the fireplace of northwesternmost house in the chunk and find three beans in the new area. Power x3
In the area west of Toad Town there is a small wood. Two bean spots can be found on the ground near the town. From north to south: Special, Heart
In the exit chunk to Blubble Lake, a bean spot can be found under the blorb-infected Toad in the northeast area. Special
The player can get beans by collecting Mushroom Balls and giving them to the PR Toad in Toad Town Mall. 12 Mushroom Balls: Heart x5 13 Mushroom Balls: Special x5 14 Mushroom Balls: Power x5

Toad Town Caves

Toad Town Caves – 10 Beans (6 Heart, 4 Special, 0 Power)
In the southeast room with a pipe to Pipe Yard, there are two bean spots in the sunken place in the south. From left to right: Special, Heart
To the north there is a zigzag path, a bean spot is in the east area of the scene. Heart
In the same scene, a bean spot is at the center of the next stair. Heart
In the same scene, two bean spots are on the stair in the west (only one shown here). From south to north: Special, Heart
Finally, in the first scene past the room where the Dark Star is sealed, there is a platform in the east with four bean spots. From north, counterclockwise: Heart, Special, Heart, Special

Plack Beach

Plack Beach – 57 Beans (21 Heart, 18 Special, 18 Power)
Starting from Cavi Cape there is a path going north. The second scene on the path (counting the entrance) branches to the west where there are three bean spots. The first one is on the high column Mario and Luigi can climb. Heart
The second one is on the high column slightly to the north. Heart
The third one is in the southeast corner of the scene. Power
In the third scene on the path across the beach, where Broque Monsieur used to be trapped on the island, there are two bean spots in the west. From north to south: Heart, Special
To the west of the third scene there are five bean spots. The first one is in the corner to the south of the two ? Blocks containing coins. Special
Climbing the rocks on the north of the scene, the player will find the second in a gap somewhere in the center. Heart
Over the gap, there is a hole in the far upper-east. Near the hole is the third bean spot. Heart
Jumping down the hole will reveal two more bean spots. The lower one can also be reached from the entrance directly. From up to down: Special, Heart
The fourth scene on the path across the beach branches to the west. At the turning point leading to an area filled with ? Blocks and spikes, there is a bean spot in the south. Power
In the sixth scene, or the next-to-last scene up to the Sea Pipe Statue, a bean spot can be found in the southwest corner. Heart
In the same scene, two bean spots can be found on the rock path behind Kuzzle's house. From west to east: Heart, Special
In the first scene to the east of the Sea Pipe Statue, a bean spot can be found at the end of the rock path in the northwest. Power
In the second scene to the east of the Sea Pipe Statue, the player needs to use Balloon Mario to reach the bean spot on the column in the north. Power
In the second scene of the cliff area, there is a bean spot on the sandy ground in the northwest corner. Power
In the third scene of the cliff area, there is a bean spot near the lower air vent. Special
Mario and Luigi can earn beans from Kuzzle by doing puzzles from Puzzle Sacks. First to third time: Heart x1, Special x1, Power x1 Fourth time: Heart x10, Special x10, Power x10

Dimble Wood

Dimble Wood – 29 Beans (18 Heart, 7 Special, 4 Power)
There is a straight path with exits to Plack Beach and Bumpsy Plains in the east part of the woods. The southernmost scene on the path branches to the east. In the branched-off area, there is a bean spot in the northwest corner. Heart
At the end of the branch, there is a bean spot near the Attack Piece block. Power
The second section of the main path from southern Plack Beach is where Broque Monsieur's and Broggy's shops are. On the southwest hill of the section, there is a bean spot near the ? Block. Heart
There is an area to the west of the same section that is guarded by a Wiggler and home to some Sockops. In the first scene to the west of the main path, which is where the Wiggler is, one bean spot can be found on the hill to the west of the Wiggler. Special
The other bean spot can be found on top of the rock wall Wiggler lives in. Heart
In the second scene to the west (where there are some walls), a bean spot can be found in the southwest corner. Heart
In the third scene to the west (which is filled with thorns), a bean spot can be found in the lower area of the platform in the northeast. Heart
In the scene to the north of the third scene west of main path, one bean spot can be found in the east part of the scene. Heart
The other bean spot can be found in the southwest corner. Heart
In the fourth scene to the west of the main path, one bean spot can be found in the northwest corner. Heart
The other bean spot can be found just to the west of the tree in the center. Heart
Returning to the main path, in the third section (counting from southern Plack Beach) there is a bean spot on the hill in the southeast of the scene. Heart
In the first scene to the west of the same section, a bean spot can be found beyond the wooden bars in the northwest. Special
In the second scene to the west of the same section, where there is a forest, there is a secret area in the north where the player can find a bean spot along with the DX SP Socks. Heart
In the west end the third section of the main path, there is an Attack Piece block to the north of the Launch Fit board. A bean spot can be found near the ? Block containing a 1-Up Deluxe in the north area. Special
In the third section on the main path from northern Bumpsy Plains, there is a bean spot in the northeast corner, beyond the wooden bars. Special
In the northernmost scene on the main path, there is a bean spot in the southeast corner. Heart
There are three scenes in a row with carrot farms in the northeast area of Dimble Wood. In the west one, the player can find a bean spot to the east of the southernmost ? Block (which contains multiple 5 Gold Coins). Heart
From the west area of the three scenes with carrot farms, take the north exit and the player can find a 1-Up Deluxe and a Star Candy in ? Blocks, and a bean spot on the ground. Power
In the center area of the three scenes with carrot farms, a bean spot can be found on the highest hill. Heart
To the northeast of the three scenes with carrot farms, there is another farm growing the Giga-carrot. Two bean spots can be found north of the carrot slot. From west to east: Power, Special
To the south of the three scenes with carrot farms, there is a scene with two bridges. A bean spot is in the northeast corner of the bridge scene. Special
Go one scene east and there is a bean spot in the southeast corner. Heart.
In the northwest area of the wood, there is a "hub" scene with five exits. A bean spot can be found under the arch in the west area of the scene. Special
In the scene to the south of the hub, there is a bean spot on the highest hill in the center, surrounded by flowers. Heart
In the scene to the southeast of the hub (where there is a pipe to Pipe Plaza), there is a bean near the entrance, surrounded by flowers. Heart
In the scene to the west of the hub, there is a bean in the southwest part of the scene. Heart
In the scene to the north of the previously mentioned one (where Bowser landed in the beginning of the game), there is a bean in the northeast corner.

Cavi Cape

Cavi Cape – 11 Beans (6 Heart, 2 Special, 3 Power)
In the southwesternmost scene where Bowser starts, there is a bean spot to the right of the hole. Power
There is a grassy area blocked by a spider web in the west. In the area Bowser can find Brick Blocks containing Red-Hot Fangs and the Judge Shell. Mario and Luigi can dig the bean there. Heart
There is an opening in the northeast of the grassy area. Going northeast without climbing the stairs, the player can find a bean spot a little to the south. Heart
Climbing the stairs in the same scene, the player can find another bean spot in the end. Heart
In the scene west of the Chakroad in the grassy area, there is a bean spot in the northwest corner. Heart
In the same scene, there is a bean spot near the exit in the southwest corner. Special
Taking the southwest exit in the same scene, there is another grassy hill to the southwest. One bean spot can be found in the northwest corner. Power
The other bean spot can be found in the southwest corner. Heart
In the scene where the Chakroad is in the grassy area, there is a bean spot to the northwest of the big hole on the ground. Power
In the scene east of the Chakroad in the grassy area, there is a bean spot in the higher area, which Mario and Luigi have to access from the north. Special
Finally, in the north part of the cave in the east, there is a bean spot on the next-to-last stair to Blubble Lake. Heart

Bumpsy Plains

Bumpsy Plains – 4 Beans (3 Heart, 0 Special, 1 Power)
In the western grassland in the center area of the plains, there is a bean spot in the southwest. Heart
In the grassland in the north area of Bumpsy Plains, there is a bean spot in the southeast corner of the scene. Heart
In the western grassland in the center area of the plains, the player should drill near the rock in the northeast and go east through the opening of the rock. They will arrive at the small area in the northwest of the next scene where there is a bean spot. Heart
In the same scene, the player should use Bowser's Body Slam to break the crack on the northwest hill, then have Mario and Luigi enter the underground area beneath the hill to collect the bean in the northwesternmost column there. Power

Bowser Path

Bowser Path – 10 Beans (3 Heart, 4 Special, 3 Power)
In the first scene of the south area, there is a bean spot near the Save Block in the first scene. Special
In the second scene of the south area, there is an arrow on the ground. The player should drill in the gap to the east of it and go west to find a bean spot. Heart
In the south area, there is a hole on the ground in the northwesternmost scene. There is a bean spot on the first stair to the north of the hole. Special
In the same scene, the player should use Bowser to break the hole and then Mario and Luigi to collect the beans underground. From left to right: Special, Heart
In the westernmost scene of the north area, there is a bean spot on the rock in the northwest corner. Power
In the next-to-westernmost scene in the north area, there is a bean spot on the end of the northeast path. Power
In the clearing in front of Bowser Castle in the north area, there are two bean spots in the northwest and southeast. Heart, Heart
In the next-to-easternmost scene in the north area, there is a bean spot on the platform in the northeast corner. Power
