So, do you want to write for The 'Shroom? Well, you've come to the right place! Here are some steps that you should follow if you want to start writing for the paper.

• If you need to stray from the release schedule you agreed to when applying for any reason (such as going on vacation or handling an emergency off of the wiki), be sure to contact the Core 'Shroom Staff member that you submit your sections to: we will work something out.
• Feel free to suggest new section ideas or even apply for an already filled position, for we don't mind two different perspectives on a similar subject.
• If you have any more questions about signing up and writing for The 'Shroom, please contact the Director.
• The application form is as follows:

1.) Which position would you like to apply for?

2.) Writers have the choice to submit sections monthly, bi-monthly (every other month), or volunteer-based (one-time submission). Please select which section plan you would like to observe.

3.) The staff reserves the right to remove writers from their position if they engage in activities that reflect badly on The 'Shroom. These activities include extensive misbehavior on the Super Mario Wiki and/or its forums. 
Do you agree to not engage in such activities for the entire duration of your employment?

4.) Please write a full-length demo of your section.  That way, we can have a bit of your work to decide if you can be on the team.

1	Super Mario Bros. (talk)	Director – Sets plans and goals for The 'Shroom and leads the Core Staff in order to carry them out. Receives and reviews applications for main sections, sends out {{Shroomwarning}} to writers one week before the due date, compiles and releases new 'Shroom editions, writes a commentary for every issue, and updates various templates related to The 'Shroom.
2	Edofenrir (talk)	Sub-Director – Archives previous 'Shroom edition, updates the Single Page, reviews each submitted section to ensure high quality, and carries out other various duties.
3	Tucayo (talk)	Statistics Manager – Manages spreadsheets, reports, and statistics for the Core Staff to refer to. Assists in the creation of the Feedback Surveys.
4	Marioguy1 (talk)	Activities Director – Manages special events, The 'Shroom Spotlight, elections, and other various activities assigned by the Director. Writes the Activity Announcements each month.
5	Fake News Team	Fictional news section.
6	Fun Stuff Team	A series of games and fun sections for readers to participate in.
7	Music and Artwork Team	The artistic part of the wiki, box-arts, music, comics and more!
8	Pipe Plaza Team	Find out all wiki-related events such as promotions, retiring users, updates, statistics, and more in the Pipe Plaza.
9	Critic Corner Team	Reviews and opinion pieces for games, movies, books, and more.
10	Tucayo (talk)	Retro Feature – A trip into the newspaper's past.
11	Stooben Rooben (talk)	Interview – Each month interviewing one of our users.
12	Position is vacant.	From the Mushroom Vaults – Tips, secrets, cheats, and codes for Mario games, new and old.	V
13	Post-Damage Invincibility (talk)	Character Comparison – Comparisons of Nintendo characters from all generations, based on several categories.
14	FunkyK38 (talk)	Brawl Tactics -Strategy information for Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Will be about a character, song, stage, and Subspace Emissary stage.
15	Coincollector (talk)	Mario Kart: Wheel Tips Corner- Gives you Tracks, Characters, and Vehicles info, some useful tips for your race, and shortcuts to improve your records! Also a small section where, if you want to share your friend code, send it to me and I'll be adding it on the next issue!
16	Toad85 (talk)	A History of Video Games-A Review of different events during the 77 year history of video games.
17	Position is vacant.	Fading into Obscurity-A look at some of the forgotten or obscure characters of the Mario games, like Tatanga from Super Mario Land or Wart from Super Mario Bros. 2.	V

2	Pyro (talk)	Travel Guide – A travel brochure or review of a location in the Marioverse. Most aspects of the location need to be described, like the temperature, costs, lodging prices, atmosphere, etc. Section has to be convincing like a real traveling pamphlet. Packages, insurance, and other minor details are optional.
3	Position is vacant	Fake Music – A description of 1-2 fake music albums or songs. The songs are related to users or characters in the Mario series.	V
4	Position is vacant	Fake TV – A description of 1-2 fake TV shows, related to either Wiki users or characters in the Mario series. The description can include a dialogue from an episode and/or screenshots.	V
5	Koopa K (talk)	Fake Games – A description of 1-2 fake Mario games for the Wii or DS.
6	Travix Man (talk)	Fake Police Blotter – A section including crime reports, deaths, and injuries regarding Mario Characters, as well as a wanted poster about a Mario character. All general information must be included, such as reward money, dead or alive status, crime committed, etc. All Wanted Posters must have WANTED at the top. Physical traits, skin color, and hair color can be described.
7	Chivi-chivik (talk)	Cooking Guide – A cooking section about a Mario-themed recipe, such as recipes from the Paper Mario series. This section can include chefs from the Paper Mario series.
8	Toadbert101 (talk)	Ad Salesman – Creator of 1-2 advertisements regarding Mario-related products.
9	Koohitsu (Talk)	Fake Interview – An interview with a character from the Mario series.
10	McZaky29 (talk)	Fake Sports – Covers a sporting event involving characters from the Mario series.
11	Baja (talk)	Fake Weather – A weather report regarding weather-related occurrences in a game from the Mario series.
12	Position is vacant	Character Battle – A comic showing a fight between Wiki users and/or Mario characters. This position requires image editing skills.	V

7	Pyro (talk)	Find the Differences – A photoshopped puzzle where you have to find the five differences in a pair of pictures from a Mario Screenshot, artwork, etc.

6	Position is vacant	Photoshopped Image of the Month – The user who has this position must use Photoshop to edit a normal picture. It should either be an entirely new character or the changing of one character into another. If it is an entirely new character, the writer must state who it is and a bit about them. If the writer changes one similar character into another, he or she must state which two made the swap. The writer must hand in the original image AND the photoshopped one.	V

11	Position is vacant	Anniversary Announcements – A temporary article; to be held around August. It will cover the progress of the MarioWiki's Anniversary ceremonies including the awards, game tournaments and all other festivities of the awards.	V

The last row is used to signify special notes. Some symbols that will probably be seen on this page:

• — Director – The Director is in charge of The 'Shroom; articles must be submitted to this user. This user also delegates his or her power and responsibility onto other users by appointing them to Leading Staff and Core Shroom staff.
• — Leading Staff – articles should be submitted to these users; they will edit the required pages to put up the next issue. In charge of making sure that everyone has a chance to write if he or she wants to and everyone has something that he or she likes to write. The Leading Staff is considered as a part of the Core Staff as well.
• — Core Staff – these users direct collaboration teams that have more than one writer. These users receive all parts of the collaboration section and send them in to the Leading Staff.
• V — Vacant – position is currently vacant.
• L — Late – this person's section was not sent in on time. Should he or she fail to send in the required section in by three days after the due date, (without a good reason, as deemed so by the Leading Staff), then he or she will lose this position. Consistent lateness will also be reciprocated with a firing.
• B — Bi-monthly – the writer sends in a section every other month.
