Arwings are small spacecrafts from the Star Fox series. They appear in the background of all Star Fox stages in the Super Smash Bros. series, namely Sector Z, Corneria, Venom and Lylat Cruise. They fly by, creating another platform, or shoot that the players from behind. They are piloted by Peppy Hare and Slippy Toad, and either Fox or Falco in the Adventure Mode.

In Super Smash Bros. Melee's Adventure Mode stage Corneria, Arwings are not present in the first battle against Fox or Falco, but charge for a heavy attack in the second battle. A Trophy of an Arwing also appears in Super Smash Bros. Melee. A similar machine is the Wolfen.

Subspace Emissary

Template:Spoiler In the Subspace Emissary of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Fox will be riding in his Arwing while avoiding the shots fired from the Halberd. The Halberd however is able to hit the Arwing and knock it down. The Arwing flies right past Kirby and the rescued princess (Princess Peach or Princess Zelda) knocking them both off the ship. The Arwing then crashes down in Donkey Kong Island. Meanwhile, Diddy Kong is walking by and notices the destroyed Arwing. However, Rayquaza suddenly appears and launches a beam at Fox and his Arwing. The beam causes an explosion which sets the Arwing on flames.

However, somehow, Fox survives he hit and jumps out of his Arwing and saves Diddy from Rayuaza. Altough it was blown up, somehow, later in the story, Fox rides the Arwing in the Aircraft battle with some of the games heroes and Ganondorf and Bowser in their large Doomship. Template:Endspoiler

Trophy Information from Super Smash Bros. Melee

The Arwing is the symbol of Star Fox. Like an F-Zero racer, it's equipped with an opposing-gravity device. It can barrel roll and flip with ease thanks to its quick acceleration and flexible control. In battle, the ship uses retractable wings for precise flying. Every Arwing has smart bombs as its sub-weapons.

Trophy Information from Super Smash Bros. Brawl

A fighter ship that comprises the main combat unit of Team Star Fox. Boasting antigravity systems known as G-Diffusers, Arwings can perform barrel rolls, quick bursts of speed, and loops. They're also equipped with variable wings that can be switched in and out of combat mode. Their main armaments are their laser cannons, and their secondary weapons are smart bombs.
