In the final level of World 9 in Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, a group of tile blocks (pictured) appear spelling out "アリガトウ！" (Arigato!, meaning "Thank You" in Japanese).
Hooktail was intended to appear in Minecraft as the Ender Dragon but was replaced by Gobblegut in the final version.
When The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! aired in Korea, the live-action segments were replaced and played by Korean actors.
Double Mario from Super Mario 3D World was actually the result of a mistake made by a staff member with the placement tool, which created two player Marios. The staff thought it was a good idea and decided to include it in the game.
