Template:Minigame-infobox Wind Wavers is a Duel minigame found in Mario Party 5. Its name may be a pun on part of the title of the video game The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, which was recent at the time.

Introduction

The camera focuses on a Tweester and turns around with the camera zooming out, scaring the two characters.

Gameplay

The minigame's main objective is to escape from the giant Tweester by waving a fan at it. The players must alternately tap L Button and R Button as fast as possible. As time goes on, the Tweester's sucking power increases, so it is recommended for the players to gradually increment the speed by pressing the L Button and R Button buttons. Whoever gets sucked into the Tweester first loses. If both players are sucked in, however, the minigame ends in a draw.

This minigame takes place in the sky. The characters are standing on yellow-colored clouds, and the Tweester is floating in front of them in a 3/4 view. The sky, unlike in other Mario Party minigames, is gray and cloudy, which suggests a hurricane or a cold day. Not long after the minigame commences, the Tweester sucks in a Paratroopa and sends it flying away a few seconds later.

This is one of the few minigames that do not use the red and blue patterns for Players 1 and 2. Instead, each character has their unique fan color. For example, Mario uses a red fan, Luigi uses a blue fan, and Boo uses a light-blue fan.

Ending

After sucking in the losing player, the Tweester sends them flying off the screen. Shortly after, the winner throws their fan into it as they strike their victory pose. If the minigame ends in a draw, the Tweester gets stronger and then simply leaves the screen.[1]
