Hello, this is the first time I've requested the use of PorpleBot, so I apologize if I forgot anything. A past [[MarioWiki:Proposals/Archive/62#Change full names of crossover characters to the more often used shortened versions in article titles|proposal]] has decided that the page names of various crossover characters should be shortened. I have moved the relevant pages and edited their templates, but I need PorpleBot to replace all their respective links across the wiki.

I have moved the relevant pages and edited their templates, but I need PorpleBot to replace all their respective links across the wiki.
The pages affected were [[Fox]], [[Sonic]], [[Tails]], [[Knuckles]], [[Amy]], [[Shadow (character)]], [[Vector]], [[Blaze]], [[Silver]], [[Rouge]], [[Espio]], [[Jet (Sonic the Hedgehog)]], [[Wave (character)]], [[Omega]], [[Sticks]], [[Cream (character)]], [[Charmy]] and [[Big (character)]]. == Question about MIDI sampling ==
Is it allowed to use MIDI files converted to mp3 or oga? I'd like to fix a mistake/ommission on the SMW Overworld sample. --{{User:FanOfYoshi/sig}} 13:39, September 28, 2023 (EDT)
:Sure, there's nothing wrong with converting media files to one of the wiki's supported formats. --{{User:Porplemontage/sig}} 15:38, September 28, 2023 (EDT)
==Confused about [[Special:Diff/4036148|this change]]==
I guess this probably came about from ''Super Mario Bros. Wonder'', but...I disagree with it being done this way. I know there's been public discussions on what to do with game filenames, and of [[MarioWiki talk:Naming#Decide how to handle internal naming|the]] [[MarioWiki talk:Naming#Decide how to handle internal filenames: take 2|two]] proposals that got canceled, the latter was leaning in the direction of doing something about internal data with the development tier in the comments. Reclassifying game ("internal") data from development names to website ("external") filenames conflicts with at least two proposals: the [[MarioWiki:Proposals/Archive/60#Partially unban citing the English version of the Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia as official names for subjects|encyclopedia one]] specifically outlines that ''Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia'' remains a lower priority than internal names, citing the Lumacomète example as a reason, and in the [[MarioWiki:Proposals/Archive/63#Reconsider Nintendo's website filenames being used as a source|website proposal]], no one was conflating game filenames with website filenames, and rather, there seemed to be general agreement of keeping them both distinguishable. Plus, [[Kracka|there]] [[Brickman|are]] [https://triforcewiki.com/wiki/User:LTL/The_Legend_of_Zelda:_Link%27s_Awakening_(2019)_enemy_glossary cases] where the unused data/string is not necessarily a ''file''name or even "[[Talk:Togemasuku|internal]]" per se. It's a weird technicality.<br>As unrelated as possible: if there is a question we want to ask more privately, would the best way to do it be via forum DM? [[User:LinkTheLefty|LinkTheLefty]] ([[User talk:LinkTheLefty|talk]]) 13:41, November 4, 2023 (EDT)
:Sure you can DM me. I only did that change because the page mentioned website files but said nothing about game files. Given that we are creating articles based on game files, surely they should be mentioned somewhere in the policy and be a part of that hierarchy. I don't personally care where they fall; I can move the mention to number 5. --{{User:Porplemontage/sig}} 13:56, November 4, 2023 (EDT)
== Tabber ==
There is discussion and proposals going on about extensive use of the tabber template. I am aware you said [[Template talk:Tabber|before]] that you didn't like it being used here. I was wondering if your thoughts on it are the same as then or if they have changed. [[User:Doc von Schmeltwick|Doc von Schmeltwick]] ([[User talk:Doc von Schmeltwick|talk]]) 10:13, November 13, 2023 (EST)
:I personally hate tabber and I think it's gimmicky. I'd rather just pick an image and cover the rest of the variations in the article body. Regardless of my feelings, I added it after the result of a democratic [[Template talk:Minigame infobox#Image in the infobox|proposal]] (this isn't a dictatorship). Regarding the JavaScript point: I can have the tabber fail in one of two ways: (1) only show the first image, or (2) show all the images. #1 is good if the additional images can be considered ''supplemental'' and hiding them isn't going to conceal important stuff from the user (for example, if those images also appear elsewhere in the article). #2 can make the infobox look [https://i.imgur.com/8My74bu.png kinda silly], but I agree that it makes more sense to use it if the images don't appear anywhere else in the articles so we don't degrade what those users are seeing. Given that several articles have removed images from the article body and put them in the infobox, I switched the failure method to #2. --{{User:Porplemontage/sig}} 10:33, November 13, 2023 (EST)
== Bowser's Muscle Car ==
I recently moved the Koopa Chase to its new official English name, would it be possible to use porplebot to replace the [[Special:WhatLinksHere/Bowser's Muscle Car|remaining links]]? {{User:LadySophie17/sig}} 18:36, November 16, 2023 (EST)
== KannonBot ==
May the PorpleBot please change all instances of "<nowiki>[[kannon (cannon)|kannon]]</nowiki>" to "<nowiki>[[cannon|kannon]]</nowiki>" and "<nowiki>[[kannonball]]</nowiki>" to "<nowiki>[[cannonball|kannonball]]</nowiki>"? == Power Shots ==
The [[Power Shot]] article has been split between [[Power Shot (Mario Golf series)]] and [[Power Shot (Mario Tennis series)]], while [[Offensive Power Shot]] and [[Defensive Power Shot]] were both merged into [[Power Shot (Mario Tennis series)]]. I believe I have fixed all of the redirects created in the Golf series articles, but there are far too many Tennis series articles to edit manually. Would it be possible to use PorpleBot to fix those redirects? {{User:LadySophie17/sig}} 12:06, December 5, 2023 (EST)
== Citation templates ==
Hello, Porplemontage. Since we do not have any citation templates, I used a cite web template onto [[User:Derekblue1/sandbox|my sandbox]] called '''cite web'''. Although, since there is no category, I think we could have '''Citation templates''' as one. What do you suggest? {{User:Derekblue1/sig}} 09:36, December 13, 2023 (EST)
:Hey. '''Citation templates''' is certainly a good category name if we were to have at least a few of them (if it's just one it could probably be tossed in [[:Category:Formatting templates|formatting templates]]), but that template would go against [[MarioWiki:Proposals/Archive/55#Create a template for citations|this proposal]], so you'd need to do a new proposal to overturn that one before the template could be moved to the template namespace or used.
:While I have you here: Note that the changes to [[MarioWiki:Article size]] were designed to make it ''less'' definitive and ''more'' discussion-based: 150 kB is simply when split consideration starts, but if it's decided to keep an article larger than that, that's allowed. That's not to say an article like [[Toad (species)]] couldn't be split into '''History of Toads''' just above 150K - [[Yoshi]] was actually split just ''under'' 150K months ago without complaint (so that's why the threshold was increased to 150K, since splitting at or around 100K didn't feel right to a lot of users while a 150K split was seemingly non-controversial, but in addition to the increase it's now meant to be an open discussion rather than a hard and fast rule). Thanks! --{{User:Porplemontage/sig}} 10:08, December 13, 2023 (EST)
::Oh. Thank you for telling me about the failed proposal of citation templates. Let us see how the future proposal goes, but I will accept the fate if it does not come through.
:: For the article size question response, it took me a few hours to understand what you meant but I finally understand you are saying that splitting articles is meant to be an open discussion; that should show why [[Template:Split]] is there in the first place. I was excited to split pages straight away because they fit the 100kB threshold. That is when I ended up splitting up a few articles that have not been discussed in the first place until Mario reminded me on the wall that I stopped. Now I understand, for the Toad species, it is better to put a Split template and discuss user thoughts of splitting this. {{User:Derekblue1/sig}} 19:23, December 13, 2023 (EST)
:::After reading the proposal, I can see where they got the [[MarioWiki:Citations]], so I think it was resolved that they choose not to have a template but a policy. According to some people, the proposal looked forced to tell others to use the citation templates for "professionalism". I will cancel the cite web template idea. {{User:Derekblue1/sig}} 22:45, December 13, 2023 (EST)
== Koopa Troop weapons category ==
Per [[Category talk:Koopa Troop weapons#Decide what to do with this category|this proposal]], [[:Category:Koopa Troop weapons]] is to be deleted. Is it possible to run a bot removing this category from all pages that have it? {{User:Swallow/sig}} 12:47, December 23, 2023 (EST)
== Proposal ==
There's a [[MarioWiki:Proposals#Split the "&lbrack;remake title&rbrack; + &lbrack;completely new game title&rbrack;" games|proposal]] that is nine days old. Can you mark the proposal as passed? {{User:GuntherBB/sig}} 10:08, December 30, 2023 (EST)
:For clarity's sake, I just archived it. As stated [[User_talk:Porplemontage#Proposal_approval|above]], you can also archive proposals that have reached their deadline yourself. [[User:Power Flotzo|Power Flotzo]] ([[User talk:Power Flotzo|talk]]) 06:42, December 31, 2023 (EST)
== Mass editing request ==
I would like to request that the string:<br>
<code><nowiki>''[[Mario Kart Tour]]''|4=Optimized with TinyPNG</nowiki></code><br>
found across the file pages of hundreds of ''Mario Kart Tour'' screenshots (such as [[:File:MKT Tour101 Spotlight Shop Flowery Badwagon.jpg]]) be replaced with:<br>
<code><nowiki>''[[Mario Kart Tour]]''<br>Screenshot taken on Redmi Note 10 Pro|4=Cropped at photopea.com, then optimized with TinyPNG</nowiki></code><br>
The layout of the elements shown in these screenshots may adapt to the device's screen size, and I think it's best if the device is mentioned for verifiability and such. {{User:Koopa con Carne/Sig}} 17:53, January 18, 2024 (EST)

== Navtemplate colors ==
Hi, should the navtemplate for ''Princess Peach: Showtime!'' use the same color scheme as the one for ''Super Princess Peach''? I just ask because it's not yet brought up at [[MarioWiki:Navigation templates]] and it would make the most sense since both are the only games where Peach is treated as the primary protagonist. {{User:Archivist Toadette/sig}} 17:23, February 23, 2024 (EST)
:Yes, sounds good. I've renamed the class from <code>spp</code> to <code>peach</code> to generalize it for more uses. --{{User:Porplemontage/sig}} 17:47, February 23, 2024 (EST)
== Vector 2022 bug ==
Hi. Why does this page look so strange?
: https://www.mariowiki.com/Donut_Block?useskin=vector-2022
It seems that if a page has at least four headings, and one of them has an unclosed italics <code>'<nowiki/>'</code>, such as:
<pre>
==''a==
==b==
==c==
==d==
</pre>
then the following HTML will be output under the Vector 2022 skin:
<syntaxhighlight lang="html">
<i>
    <div class="mw-content-container">...</div>
    <div class="mw-footer-container">...</div>
</i>
</syntaxhighlight>
The effect of the extraneous <code>&lt;i&gt;</code> is to make the whole page italic and extremely narrow. --[[User:Dine2017|Dine2017]] ([[User talk:Dine2017|talk]]) 06:17, March 17, 2024 (EDT)
:It seems fine [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Porplemontage&oldid=1214206408&useskin=vector-2022 on Wikipedia], so the fix should eventually make its way downstream to us. In the meantime, those tags should be closed anyway. --{{User:Porplemontage/sig}} 11:27, March 17, 2024 (EDT)

Can you please change the URL that the <code><nowiki>[[wikia:c:<wiki>]]</nowiki></code> interwiki link generates from <code><nowiki>https://community.fandom.com/wiki/c:<wiki></nowiki></code> to <code><nowiki>https://<wiki>.fandom.com</nowiki></code>? Thanks! {{User:GuntherBB/sig}} 13:45, March 21, 2024 (EDT)
:That is not possible due to how [[Special:Interwiki]] works. Luckily we can use {{tem|fandom}} instead. --{{User:Porplemontage/sig}} 14:06, March 21, 2024 (EDT)
::So are you going to remove the <code><nowiki>[[w:c:<wiki>]]</nowiki></code> interwiki link if the proposal [[Template talk:Fandom#Decide whether to add the language parameter and/or change back to the interwiki link template|here]] gets declined, since Fandom's interwiki link had problems in the past? {{User:GuntherBB/sig}} 12:28, March 22, 2024 (EDT)
:::No, I don't plan on it. While I would encourage articles to use {{tem|fandom}}, the <code>wikia</code> interwiki is a pretty standard one to have and it's fine to have for backwards-compatibility, use in the userspace, etc. --{{User:Porplemontage/sig}} 13:37, March 22, 2024 (EDT)
