The preview buttonEdit

Hello there! I must first commend you on your recent creation of High Rollers. It's a well written article. Well done! But I must bring to your attention about the consecutive edits you made on the page's history. In future, please remember to use the Preview Button next to Save Page in order to not flood the page with edits. For example, here, you incorrectly tagged a category like {{Category:Example}}. If you used the preview button on that edit, you could've seen that would not have worked, and fixed it to [[Category:Example]], to save an edit. Thank you for your understanding, and do keep contributing :)

I've noticed that you have been making less edits to a newly created page. Thanks for listening to my advice! But remember, it is recommended that you create a page in amount of edits possible. Remember that preview button! I also suggest that you create a page called User:DonnyKD/Work or User:DonnyKD/Drafts (one or the other, can't have both). On either of those pages, you can type up a draft of an article that you plan to create, and when it it ready, you can copy the source to create that article in one edit :)

Uploading filesEdit

Please remember to license the image file as video game screenshot before uploading and add in the game title category such as this. Also, next time, please removing the aboutfile template on the summary before uploading a image (if you're going to type on it).

Kayak 254Edit

It's not officially known as 'red coins of the tall grass' but I've hear a lot of fans call it that.

ReferencesEdit

Can you put references to the levels of New Super Mario Bros. 2 you added, please? :) I can't find them.

Fox LuigiEdit

The difference is fire is still fire if it's green, a Raccoon is not and it never will be a fox so unless you are trying to make the argument that a fox is a Raccoon then i'm going to revert your edit because the source says he looks pretty sharp with fox ears and tail. Raven Effect (talk)

  • Yes, but Green Fire is a different kind of Fire, and the fact that Luigi gets the powerup from the Super Leaf shows it's Raccoon Luigi. We aren't calling Tanooki Luigi "Kitsune Luigi" now are we? DonnyKD (talk) 03:41, 22 July 2012 (EDT)
Actually he is called Kitsune Luigi in most languages, also the games not out yet so you can't prove he's Raccoon Luigi so there isn't any evidence he's going to be called Raccoon Luigi when the site only says Raccoon Mario. Raven Effect (talk)
Toy Time Galaxy is called Toy Box Galaxy in Japan, Germany and in Spanish countries, but then again, what's the title of its article again? DonnyKD (talk) 03:50, 22 July 2012 (EDT)
Because those aren't the English names but can you prove that this games Luigi is Raccoon Luigi? Raven Effect (talk)
He flies, he glides, he spins with his tail and hurts surrounding enemies, he gets the suit from a Super Leaf, yeah, it's Raccoon Luigi until proven otherwise. The only reason we call Luigi's Gold Flower transformation Silver Luigi is because that's his offical name, currently. And I do not know why you bring up the fact that Tanooki Luigi's called Kitsune Luigi in other countries if it's irrelevant anyway. DonnyKD (talk) 03:57, 22 July 2012 (EDT)

Larry Koopa ragingEdit

Hi.

Sorry about the copy. Didn't know that was actually from his being defeated. Anyways, can you upload a picture of Larry pitching a fit from either New Super Mario Bros. Wii or New Super Mario Bros. 2? It seems to be necessary for the personality section. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 23:00, 18 September 2012 (EDT)

I don't think I can, actually. I don't have any way to screencap my Wii games. Sorry. DonnyKD (talk) 23:01, 18 September 2012 (EDT)

ReminderEdit

Please stop removing content without prior discussion on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing.
If you feel this reminder was undeserved, you may appeal it.

Why did you remove the level section on NSMBU? It was fine. PTR (talk) 22:01, 31 October 2012 (EDT)

    • It was, it's just that I took the time to move all info about the levels to the World pages. DonnyKD (talk) 22:02, 31 October 2012 (EDT)
      • Sprry, I didn't realize. And don't remove reminders. I'll re-add it, but don't remove it. That is against the policies. I won't give an official warning now, but consider yourself warned. PTR (talk) 22:05, 31 October 2012 (EDT)

NSMBU file titleEdit

We would like only screenshots of the gameplay instead of the title screen file on the infobox. As this for example.

eep-cheepEdit

thanks for telling me, but they weren't called Eep-cheep schools in NSMB WII, can i change it?

Targeting TedsEdit

I want to let you know that the Prima Guide calls the Missile Teds as Targeting Teds. Do you think you can change it since thats the official Prima name? Smasher345 21:16, 22 December 2012 (EST)

Oops my bad, I didn't think someone else had changed it by then. Sorry. Smasher345 21:28, 22 December 2012 (EST)

Your uploadsEdit

Hello, DonnyKD. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly use the {{aboutfile}} template. What you were doing looks like this, and it is an inconvenience for other users to fix up the template. It is simple to learn how to format it correctly. The pre-loaded coding is shown below.

{{aboutfile
|1=Subject of the image
|2=Where you found the image
|3=Artist
|4=Describe edits, if any
|5=Other versions (use file link)
}}

Just replace the necessary parts with that corresponding information, and remove the entire line of the variable(s) you don't use. If you do not wish to use the template at all, then it is acceptable to simply remove it before you upload the file. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. If you continue using {{aboutfile}} incorrectly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Next time you edit articles, make sure to include the parts that make sure it doesn't break, kay?

I suggest you follow through with this reminder instead of just ignoring it, because failure to follow the about-file reminder could get you an official reminder regarding the aboutfile. If you don't know what to place in the parameter, I suggest you remove it altogether so that we don't have to continue fixing it up for you.   Ray Trace(T|C) 15:37, 30 December 2013 (EST)
    • It's difficult to copy/paste the summaries to every image, especially when I'm uploading directly fromt he Wii U. I'll try to get summaries done, but I can't always follow though. DonnyKD (talk) 15:39, 30 December 2013 (EST)
It may be difficult and tedious, but that's part of editing the wiki. If you can't fill it in, just remove the aboutfile template and at least add the Category:Super Mario 3D World Images since if you don't add it in, it will be more difficult for users trying to find images pertaining to Super Mario 3D World.   Ray Trace(T|C) 15:41, 30 December 2013 (EST)

Image questionEdit

Hi, can I ask which game this is from? --driftmaster130 (TalkEdits) 09:40, 25 December 2013 (EST)

NSLU, straight from the Wii u. DonnyKD (talk) 11:32, 25 December 2013 (EST)
Thanks. --driftmaster130 (TalkEdits) 12:16, 25 December 2013 (EST)

Reason behind splitting pages Captain Toad/3D WorldEdit

The reason behind splitting the pages is because the level info box only refers to one game, at least for the next and previous level marks << and >>.

  • We can't have another level box? DonnyKD (talk) 06:37, 11 December 2014 (EST)

Your recent editEdit

The sounds from Tanooki Mario has been ripped and downloadable here by a reputable ripper of voice clips. Further inspection in the files and you get file names like blg_Damage_Fire-03_Amb_ny_32, which mirrors what they are called in Mario Kart Wii if you inspect revo_kart.brsar via Brawl Box. Mario Kart 8 uses a similar format (bfsrar I believe) for storing voice clips, and thus it's reasonable to assume that the file names are the base names for the file. I don't have any further proof of this other than my links but I can assure you that that's the name of the sound clips used in the .bfsrar file. Further more it's not a pre-release element: the sound clips are used in the game.   Ray Trace(T|C) 21:44, 1 February 2015 (EST)

  • We keep unused or hidden-in-the-disc elements in the Beta elements page, though. DonnyKD (talk) 17:49, 3 February 2015 (EST)
