- I beg to differ. It also clearly states several times that the name "Nintendo 3DS" is a temporary name that is only being used during development. And you obviously won't be able to play 3D games on the old 2D consoles. Besides, it's the only lead we have on the console, why should we assume there is a mistake in it?
