To complete this mission, the player must use [[Bulb Yoshi]] to progress to other areas of the planet. When they reach an area with [[Flipswitch]]es, the player must activate them all to reveal a [[Launch Star]]. After using it, they'll end up on the Present Planet. Here, the player must use the [[Bulb Berry]] to make the cake appear. Then, they must climb the layers of the cake until they reach its top. The [[Power Star]] is located there.

They'll find a [[Boards (Super Mario Galaxy)| Board]] telling him to collect every single [[Purple Coin]]. There is exactly one hundred of them. To collect them all, the player will need to use [[Yoshi]] and the [[Bulb Berry]] to open up new paths. If they manage to get all of the coins, they'll earn a [[Power Star]]. Unlike in most other Purple Coin missions, there is no [[time limit]] in this mission.
