Template:Minigame-infobox Lava Lobbers is a Duel minigame that is found in Mario Party 8.

Introduction

The first player rides inside a small minecart as it travels along a track and crashes through two wooden doors into a large lava-filled room, which appears to be inside a volcano. Bumpers at the end of the track stop the minecart from falling into the lava, and a rotating platform then spins the minecart 90 degrees to face the second player in their own minecart on the other side of the room, as the bumpers and the section of track that the first player rode in on both fall downward. The screen splits in half to show both players, and the minigame begins.

Gameplay

The players attempt to shoot cannonballs at each other. The players can move their minecarts to dodge the cannonballs. There are two types of cannonball shots. The player can shoot a cannonball directly at the other player, and the other player can dodge it. The player can also lob a cannonball high into the air so that it comes down onto the other player. This attack requires the other player to memorize where the shooter shot the cannonball. Both players have a health bar, each with three pieces. The player who successfully knocks the other player into the lava by hitting them with cannonballs three times wins. If both players are kicked out of the minigame at the same time or the timer reaches zero, the minigame will end in a tie.
