Biathlon is a normal event in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games .
The character skis through a cross-country course, which has some obstacles which the character must dodge to avoid losing time. When the character reaches a shooting range, the character has 5 tries to shoot all 5 targets. If targets are missed, depending on the amount of targets missed, when the character has finished shooting, he cannot continue skiing until the penalty time is over, which is shown by a bar.
