In Syrup Castle of the original Wario Land, there are axe/blade objects that hang from low ceilings and require crawling while big or a Jet Wario blast to pass through. They look an awful lot like the Wario Land II interpretation of yari, except they're shorter and don't extend in any practical way, just as an aesthetic part of the animation.
