MarioWiki:Patrollers

A patroller is a user who is given blocking, rollbacking, and patrolling rights.

Patrollers were established on April 15th, 2007 in order to counter Template:Link that has been becoming more constant as the wiki becomes more popular. They can be considered an in-between of users and sysops and are chosen by Template:Link for a) activeness and b) trust.

A user can be promoted immediately to sysop and never be a patroller. The two roles are considered entirely separate as far as promotion goes, but work together to block vandals and "patrol" recent changes.
