Speed Boost are high speed shoes found in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It resemble one of Sonic's shoes.
In Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, they are use as items in Dream Events such has Dream Race and Dream Long Jump thoughout the game. The player can use them to automatically speed up for a set period of time. It is similar to the Mushrooms in the Mario Kart series.
In Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, they return once again in Dream Event where they are now call as, High Speed Shoes. They are used just the same as in the previous game.
