The Gateway Galaxy is one of the many known galaxies from the upcoming Wii videogame Super Mario Galaxy. It serves as the opening level for the game and is the location of the Cosmic Observatory. It starts as Mario finds himself on a strange moon. He is greeted by a Star-shaped creature who turns into a Space Rabbit and takes Mario to it's comrades. The rabbits offer to tell him where he is if he plays hide and seek with them, and scamper off to their hiding places. It is unknown what happens next, but they eventually take Mario to Princess Rosetta. Also in the level Mario will fight a giant Goomba for a key to rescue a Grand Star.
